As a student in middle school and high school, I personally struggled with both math and reading comprehension. I had never been taught good study habits. However, I changed my approach to school work and graduated Summa cum Laude from college. As a math tutor, my goal is for my students to not only learn, but to also understand that it is an exercise in reasoning. I want them to come to know that math can, in fact, be fun. As a reading tutor, I want to share practices and tips that enabled me to be successful and to instill a lifelong love of reading in my students. I received a Master of Education degree in August 2022.

I am a middle school English teacher. I tutored many students while in school. I work with students all the time on improving their writing skills, reading, etc. I am excited to help you advance this spring and summer.

As a physical therapist, I am deeply passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of clinicians. I am at the perfect point in my career where I have >4 years of clinical experience, but am fresh enough in this field that I have full of empathy and understanding of what you are currently experiencing as a student/recent graduate. I have been a clinical instructor for 5 physical therapy students, guiding them through patient care, clinical reasoning, and professional development.

I knew early on I wanted to be a teacher. I love helping children learn and I love to see the excitement when they learn something new for the first time or when they finally grasp a concept that was hard. I have taught kindergarten since 2008. I have a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a Master's in Curriculum Design and Instruction, both from McKendree University. Teaching reading may be my favorite subject. When a child reads a sentence for the first time that they thought they may not be able to do, that joy in their face fills my heart. Teaching them that "they may not be able to do it YET but soon they will be able to" is so important. They can do anything they put their minds to.
