Making sense of difficult material not only makes for a challenge but also a sense of accomplishment. I take the approach that most material that is perceived as difficult is only viewed that way due to the way the material is presented. I tend to break concepts down using common language and parallel those concepts with information that is already well understood. Most importantly, I feel that the information is interesting and engaging and I try to present it in exactly that manner.I have a broad range of educational experience as I started my college life attending art school to pursue a degree in traditional animation for making films. Although I did not finish my degree in animation, I did acquire some unique skills and experiences in the realm of fine art and drawing.I started pursuing subjects that interested me and was specifically pulled toward the sciences. I was lucky to have had several exceptional teachers and their guidance inspired me to obtain a degree in Chemistry. It was during this path to obtain my Bachelor's degree that I was introduced to my favorite subject, Organic Chemistry. The instructor that I had for Organic Chemistry was amazing and made the class not only amusing and interesting but also fun. The experience of understanding Organic Chemistry inspired me to pursue a Master's degree specifically in this subject. While in graduate school, I was a teaching assistant and this was very rewarding for me as I had the opportunity to share the knowledge that I had gained over my college years and pass that information on to students that were currently taking the class. It was this experience that caused me to realize that I really had a passion for teaching. To see how grateful students were to have me help them understand Chemistry was more fulfilling that any other employment experience that I have ever had.I am currently an instructor of Organic Chemistry at a local community college and I am looking forward to what the future holds in store.

I completed my Bachelor's of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders at University of Illinois Urbana Champaign in 2012 and my Master's of Science in Speech Language Pathology at Saint Xavier University in 2014. Upon graduation I began work as a school based therapist, first for a special education cooperative and most recently with the Chicago charter school system. As a school based speech-pathologist I have worked with K-12 students at a variety of ability levels as well as transition aged students in a specialized program.I love bringing my clinical skills to my work as a tutor because it allows me to break skills down to their fundamental levels. Working with students to understand the concepts at play helps them to not only get the right answer but to understand the why. This skill based learning helps students understand information more thoroughly and generalize the skills across questions more effectively. Outside of work I like to keep active through running and volunteering with a local animal shelter. My ultimate goal is to one day raise and train a dog as my partner in animal assisted therapy services.
As a passionate educator with a Bachelor's in Biology from Saint Xavier University and an Associate's in Veterinary Technician from Joliet Junior College, I have over 10 years of tutoring and classroom experience specializing in preparing students for the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE). I am a graduate of Wabash College, a small school in Indiana. I obtained my Bachelors degree in Spanish and Education. I returned to Illinois and have been working as a teacher since 2017 in a bilingual setting. Recently I have just finished my Masters degree at Saint Xavier University. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about the Spanish language. My experience covers a large range of age groups and curriculum, but have the most experience with elementary/middle school subjects. As a teacher, I have learned there is no student left behind and every student can learn. Not everyone learns the same, but they all can learn. As a teacher and tutor, I believe it is very important to get to know who your student(s) are so you can work together towards a common goal. While it is important to learn, having fun while learning is also a large part of my philosophy as my belief is the experience will have a greater impact on my students if they can have fun while learning . I enjoy watching movies, spending time with family, friends, and sports, especially hockey.
I am a graduate of Millikin University, in Decatur, IL. I received a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education. I also received a Master's degree from St. Xavier University in Teaching and Leadership. For the past eight years, I have been teaching at a public high school. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree (Spanish major, Bilingual/Bicultural Education minor), from Central Michigan University. I also hold masters' degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies in Curriculum and Instruction, and in Teaching and Leadership. My instructional background includes many years as a high-school classroom bilingual teacher, working with Spanish-speaking students as they earned their graduation credits in bilingual content courses, as well as teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) writing. Some of my favorite courses include Writing, History, and Social Sciences. One aspect of my teaching experience that I especially love is the ability to communicate in Spanish as well as in English. Additionally, I have taught ESL to adults, and phonics and reading to K-3 students.I love teaching and learning! For me, they are an unbeatable combination. The abilities to think analytically and choose wisely are the keys that can unlock potential. With those keys, a person can open any door. Learning is dynamic: it leads from one discovery to another. There is something magical about watching their faces light up when students 'get' something. An education is something no one can take away from a person; it transfers to whatever opportunities life offers and helps foster successful, healthy lives. Helping someone on their journey to becoming a life-long learner and doer is what fuels my passion for teaching and learning. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy running, cooking, and singing.
I am a graduate of Saint Xavier University with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. I have also obtained my endorsement in ESL, as I grew up in a bilingual household. Upon graduation in 2019, I have worked at two Montessori schools, both located in Chicago. Working closely with a range of age groups (preschool, Kindergarten, and some elementary grades) both in-person and remotely, have given me a unique perspective as to how children learn differently. My favorite subject to tutor is English since I believe forwarding the knowledge to second language learners is a gift. My approach to teaching is to gauge the learner's interests to make it as engaging and fun as possible. The learning process becomes unique when the teacher and student form a unique bond to meet educational needs. In my spare time, I enjoy baking, exercising, and appreciating nature.
