We reviewed aggregate supply and demand, consumer functions, the multiplier effect, and long run supply. The student has her final exam this week so we redid several of the problems in the book that her professor suggested. She still struggles a little with the difference between movement along a curve vs shifts in the curve, but she is able to determine the difference when she draws a graph.

Today we reviewed fiscal policy. I began by explaining the loanable funds market in an open economy and its impact on the government budget constraint. I then described how government saving impacts private saving and how both are necessary to determine national savings. We then modeled household consumption and government consumption in order to find their respective budget constraints. Finally we conducted three experiments in order to see how changes in taxes and government spending impact the two constraints.

We worked on a problem set focused on monetary policy. We also reviewed an old exam prior to the session and looked at the rest of the problem set. She seems to pick up quickly and be very strong with math so I did not have any concerns. We will likely be meeting weekly to work on problem sets.
