I am a native French speaker, have been a tutor with kids after school to assist them with their homework, created some activities in French for schools (singing French songs, cooking lessons). I used to work also with French adults when I lived in France and in London to guide them in finding a job and an apartment too. Friendly, I love working with people and help them to achieve their goals.

I've been a student of the world for almost three decades and I feel like I've just scratched the surface of what's to be learned about it. I'm excited to connect with new people and share the knowledge I know while gaining new perspectives about what has been in front of me this whole time.

I am a friendly, fun loving and patient tutor. I have lots of experience working with students of all ages. And I think work is a lot easier when it is fun!

Science can change the world and I want to be apart of that change. I am currently a 4th year chemistry PhD candidate at the University of Southern California studying scaling methods for the sustainable synthesis of renewable energy catalysts.

I received a B.A. in Environmental Science and Policy at California State University Long Beach in 2009. I began my graduate studies in 2011 where I also taught undergraduate students for a year in courses pertaining to environmental sustainability and climate change. As part of my graduate program I went from 2012-2014 to Peace Corps in Mexico helping with water projects. In June 2015 I completed my M.S. in Environmental Studies from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Since 2015, I work at the Environmental Protection Agency and continue to volunteer with a nonprofit, Mariposas, that helps young women in Mexico. Outside of my work, I enjoy water sports, running, and music. I love science and Spanish and hope to share my enthusiasm with students!

I believe in the power of education. For the last eight years, I have been working in and out of schools as a teacher, media producer, and consultant, witnessing firsthand the effect that great education can have on a communit of people. I am especially interested in one-on-one learning, as it has improved my own life time and time again. This is why I joined Varsity Tutors: to contribute as much as I can to someone else's development as a student in the classroom and citizen of the world. Let's have a great time learning together!

I am a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a primary focus in Environmental and Structural Engineering. Upon graduation, I moved to Tanzania to pursue a Fulbright Research Grant where I was able to work with community members to help establish a water distribution system for a rural village. After returning, I completed my Masters level coursework at the University of California, Davis in Civil and Environmental Engineering. I have had a variety of tutoring experiences over the course of my studies, ranging from one-on-one tutoring sessions, to group settings through a classroom internship. I am passionate about a lot of subjects including mathematics, physics, and chemistry. I also love literature and writing and can confidently help students practice critical reading and writing skills. In my spare time I enjoy biking, hiking, climbing, exploring, reading, and going to the beach!

I'm an avid learner, and I believe in the power of education. I'm a trained historian. With that training has come skills in reading comprehension, critical analysis, writing, and editing. I believe that when someone is motivated and excited to learn, then he or she will learn. Education is fun and exciting, so let's make it feel fun and exciting!I am an undergraduate student at the University of Southern California pursuing a B.A. in history and computer programming. My history degree focuses on American history, particularly with an emphasis on the 19th and 20th centuries. I have worked with students -- high school, university, and adult -- to improve skills in reading, writing, and analyzing. Additionally, I have developed a curriculum for the GRE, which has helped students achieve their goals!

I received my Master of Arts in Biology from Point Loma Nazarene University. My undergraduate studies were completed at Pepperdine University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a focus on Marine biology and Ecology. Additionally, I also hold California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Biology. My credential program was completed at California State University San Marcos. Since completing the credential program in 2008, I have worked as a high school science teacher at a large private high school in the area. In the six years that I have been teaching, I've had the opportunity to teach a variety of courses including: General Biology, Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, Marine Biology, and Honors Anatomy and Physiology. For the past three years, my focus has been on the latter three courses previously mentioned. Prior to becoming a high school teacher, I worked as an Outdoor Educator at Ocean Institute, and traveled throughout Western Europe teaching English as a Foreign Language classes in Greece, and England. I have a true passion for education and science. My goal when working with students is to provide them with an opportunity to take ownership of their learning, resulting in greater understanding and appreciation of the topics we are discussing/learning. In my spare time, I enjoy surfing, swimming, sailing, snowboarding, photography, and traveling.
