I love working with students one-on-one because it's possible to get to the bottom of whatever is challenging them and help them conquer it. I love to see the light-bulbs go on when they finally understand something or realize what they know. It's also fun to build rapport with young people and help them discover the joy of learning.
I have over ten years of teaching experience in all subjects: as a full-time elementary school teacher, a substitute in all grades, and a summer-school teacher doing math review with high school freshmen. I have also tutored in French and English as a second language and helped college students and adults with revising and editing their writing.
I have a current teaching credential from the State of California, a master's degree in education from U.C.L.A., and a bachelor's degree in French from U.C. Berkeley.
