Tutoring review by Jordan in South Pasadena, CA
We actually didn't cover chemistry in this session. The student had a math test before the break, so we went over how to find the domain and range of certain functions. We also went over how to transform those functions. She had a packet with problems and seemed confident that she could transform functions and give accurate domains and ranges for these functions by the time the session ended.

The student and I worked through a 6th grade Mathematics chapter today. He has grown significantly in his understanding of Math as we have worked together. Today, we finished an entire chapter's worth of work on positive and negative integer numbers sense. We learned about absolute value, conceptually understanding what situations are positive and which are negative, we also tied this understanding to coordinate planes.

We went through some trigonometry problems, and I explained how the student has to solve them. Then I asked her to solve similar problems to make sure she understood them and she is able to solve them by herself. Then we went through her project and we solved some of the questions. She is doing good.

Tutoring review by Brittany in South Pasadena, CA
The student and I met yesterday and worked through his schedule for the next couple of weeks. Finals will begin soon, so we focused on what he will need to do to make sure that he is ready. He missed a few assignments and is still waiting for one of his teachers to give him the makeup work. He is afraid that this is will negatively impact his grade. He is also beginning to think about the spring semester and all of the testing he will be required to take while still managing his normal coursework.
