We further discussed the idea of simplifying radicals, but this time we were simplifying radical expressions. We talked about combining like radicals, simplifying to find a like radical, using the distributive property and the FOIL method, using conjugates to eliminate radicals in the denominator, and using the Golden Ratio to solve problems. Again, the student didn't seem to have any trouble with the material. In science, we started talking about organic compounds-- what they are, how they're structured, and how they're represented. We talked mostly about hydrocarbons, the difference between saturated and unsaturated, different isomers, and benzene.
