Physical Chemistry Tutoring review by Javier in Brentwood, CA
Today we reviewed a homework assignment. The student's confidence in the material is growing with every week. She demonstrated excellent knowledge of the material and asked the right questions to make sure she understands concepts that she initially was not sure of. We covered topics related to measures of central tendency, standard error, confidence intervals, calculating sample size, as well as the relationship between variance, sample size, and the standard error. We will review confidence intervals and hypothesis testing for next week.

Physical Chemistry Tutoring review by Michael in Brentwood, CA
The student and I started the session by looking at a recent test from a few weeks ago. We went over the questions from the test that were challenging for her. One of the major topics was the standard model, all of the particles that make up matter. Her class is also learning how to code using Python. Coincidentally, I started teaching myself Python about a month ago, so I was able to walk her through some of the basics! After that, we tackled some homework problems about standing waves. Her class doesn't use a textbook, only PowerPoint lectures. I think it would be really beneficial to have a textbook as a reference and will be looking into some possibilities for our tutoring sessions. Overall, she is a great student and exceptionally bright. I'm looking forward to helping her grow this year!

Physical Chemistry Tutoring review by Connor in Brentwood, CA
In our first session together, the student and I worked through a review for an upcoming physics exam. This covered linear kinematics from both a quantitative and qualitative perspective. It was clear to me that she was highly interested in the material due to her level of focus and enthusiasm. To aid in problem solving for upcoming exams, I demonstrated the value of creating diagrams to keep track of the progression of a given problem. For extra practice, I recommended working through the exam review a second time without my assistance.

The student is very well versed in these manipulations and is therefore well prepared and up to speed for her physics course.

The student never learned how to complete the square of a quadratic equation, so I taught him how. He picked up the concept very quickly. We then used the concept to solve a projectile motion problem.

The student and I covered the chapter 4 homework questions. We solved all of them except for the challenge problem since we were approaching the 2 hour mark for the session. I sent her a picture of the solution for the challenge problems after the session with an explanation.
