Tutoring review by Michael in Panorama City, CA
The student has a test coming up on Thursday and we spent this session preparing for it. This test will be covering logs and exponents. We discussed the worksheets and review packets that were provided in class. Every time we hit a problem that she felt unsure of, we stopped and talked about the problem, then did more problems to put in to practice what we discussed. Solving complex log and exponential functions gave her some trouble and I will be sending extra practice problems today.

Tutoring review by Ariel in Panorama City, CA
We covered questions from high school entrance exams, including fill-in-the-blank, synonyms, analogies, and reading comprehension questions. We especially focused on reading comprehension, since that seemed to be an area in which the student had more trouble. We talked about how to approach passages. We also talked about some general test-taking strategies as we practiced: ex. process of elimination, reading for context clues, looking at how the two blanks in "two blank" questions relate to each other. We also practiced vocab from the assessment exam app. I would recommend continuing to practice vocab and reading comprehension throughout the week. Looking forward to our next session!

Tutoring review by Daniel in Panorama City, CA
Yesterday's session went well. We went through a long review section in the textbook, covered a few bonus problems from class, and then started another review worksheet. The material all focused on the six basic functions, basic transformations, and identifying the domain and range. The student is doing pretty well and only needed a few little pointers. I think that reviewing together was particularly helpful for figuring out the symmetries and reflections.

Tutoring review by Jose in Panorama City, CA
In this session, we went over the student's study guide for her next test. Particularly, we studied functions, and how to set up their graphs by evaluating points and plotting them in a Cartesian coordinates plane. We also practiced some word problems, which she learned to solve very well. I advise her to practice some more functions problems in general to be able to solve them faster.
