Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student took all of the tests - verbal, quantitative, reading, and math. I timed her and she came in under the time required with scores of 95% to 100%. The verbal diagnostic we tested twice because the first time it was 57%. She has come a long way and feels proud of her progress. We were remembering her first math test where she scored 23%. Wednesday we will continue to test with new material, and Saturday I will proctor a paper testing in her home."
"Reviewed one of the student's practice tests and then looked in-depth at some percentage questions, one area that can sometimes be trouble for him. He still has his 4 timed practice tests for the rest of break."
"This was my first session with the student in preparing her for the Middle Level ISEE. Her Mom had requested that we focus primarily on the Reading parts, but to also do an overall review of all parts of the ISEE. We began with the Reading diagnostic, alerting me to a general need for test taking strategies and concentrated practice in the areas of Ideas, Language and Textual relationships within Literary, Contemporary, History and Science passages. During the review of her incorrect responses, we discussed general and question type specific strategies, which I will summarize on a one page pdf and upload for her use at home. For our next sessions, we will take a look at her Verbal and Math diagnostics respectively. Math seems to be a strength for her, although we will tackle the concentrated practice on the concepts missed. She is very receptive and remembers the strategies discussed today, even correcting herself on questions previously missed by applying the discussed strategies. Overall, the session went very well."
