I have taught for over 20 years, both classroom math/english to grades 1-college, and tutored private students grades 4-12. I love math and history. I am on the board of STEM in our Mamaroneck School District, and combine math and problem solving in a holistic way.

Everything I learn, I do so for the purpose of teaching it to someone else.

I believe an instructor should make a subject exciting and interesting. Being positive, pleasant,and humorous is important. Maya Angelou put it the right way: "People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But they will never forget how you made them FEEL." My goal is to make a student feel something positive, then associate that with information. They won't forget that.

It's very important for me to empower students to be able to succeed on their own. A real tutor gives them the skills they need to perform on their own, with the training wheels off. I have the content knowledge, the teaching experience, and the calm and disciplined approach to help students get to this place.
