The city first incorporated as a village in 1849, and as a city in 1973.

In Minneapolis, you can see The Museum of Russian Art, which is a treasure trove of amazing work from the Motherland. Because the student had so much work over break, we decided to meet up once over the holiday to get him caught up. There was no doubt that he was overloaded with work, and it was affecting his ability to work efficiently. Rather than focus on content matter, I tried to help break the work down into smaller chunks that were less overwhelming to work on. We also made a study plan to help maximize his efficiency this break, and also give him the most restful schedule possible with his workload.

Tutoring review by Steve in Falcon Heights, MN
Today the student and I went over the basics to implicit differentiation. This was a new topic for him, but I think he really caught on with the use of examples. We also applied the use of implicit differentiation to determine tangent lines to different types of curves. We also briefly went over indefinite integrals and limits (using L'Hopital's rule). He seems to really be understanding the material.

We went over multiple review problems and then created a study guide of the major themes. It was the best of the three sessions we've had. She will likely be prepared for her exam tomorrow.

I went over an algebra lesson with both students. We reviewed exponent rules and factoring polynomials. There were some fairly involved problems that both students worked through. I've noticed significant improvement in their algebra skills since the time we first started working together.

This session we discussed a HW exercise on "magic squares." The student was able to complete the exercises. We also reviewed converting fractions to decimals and percents for an upcoming quiz. She had the primary fractions memorized. We discussed how to check answers by estimation and by referencing known values.

With the student, we covered topics such as the male and female reproductive system, the excretory system, the respiratory system, and fluids. She will still need to improve her content knowledge in order to really do well on these passages and on future passages. We will continue to focus on this in future sessions.
