ISAT Tutoring review by Taylor in Minneapolis, MN
Today, the student and I focused on vocabulary, reading comprehension, and a few math problems. We went over the stem lists that Leah has been working on, and we looked at 25 practice vocabulary problems. We then did 3 reading comprehension problems, and we ended the session with doing timed math problems.

ISAT Tutoring review by Thomas in Minneapolis, MN
This was the student's best session ever. We reviewed different English Reading sections on past English tests, and he got all 29 questions correct. It was an amazing and phenomenal performance, and gives me great hope that he can pass this test. He was focused, confident, and decisive. I was so happy for him, as he is getting more and more confident over the last three sessions. In addition, we went over the writing section, which is going to be a persuasive exercise that he must complete. I had him write a persuasive paper, and it was pretty good. We will also do a few more of these during our last session before the test on March 31. Overall, this was exciting for me to see.

ISAT Tutoring review by Nora in Minneapolis, MN
The student and I talked about the results she'd gotten by applying some of the techniques we went over last time to her practice questions. Based on those results, we refined a few of the strategies she's been practicing. In particular, we discussed how to better identify which components of a question are essential to finding the right answer. I had her practice rephrasing questions in her own words to make sure that she could accurately boil them down to their essence. I shared some ideas with her regarding questions she can ask herself in order to weed out the assumptions she may be tempted to add to a question, and she expressed afterward that she could see the distinction between what certain questions included as relevant information and what she was bringing to the questions by relying on her mental images of the scenarios they described. During our next session, we plan to look together at an online practice test that will mimic the computerized testing format of her actual exam. We also discussed the need for a consistent weekly appointment we came up with a consistent scheduling plan that we both believe will be workable.

ISAT Tutoring review by Sophia in Minneapolis, MN
Student #1 and I reviewed information question and answers. He did very well (100%). We completed matrix reasoning (# 29-56) and again he did well (23/27). We still had some time, so we started the animal coding section to introduce him to it. So, we'll review matrix reasoning next week, then go into animal coding with sea animals and shapes. Student #2 and I reviewed Information Q&A and she did well. We completed matrix reasoning (#35-56) and again she did well (18/21). Her work speed has improved as well! We went right into the introduction of animal coding and she got the hang of it. I am so very proud of the student's progress today! We will review matrix reasoning next week, complete animal coding, and maybe work a bit with blocks.
