Algebra Tutoring review by Rolando in Minneapolis, MN
Today I tutored the student for 3 hours. We worked through the entire final exam review packet and worked on more strategies for her to do well. We are focusing on her asking me questions about what she has written down after every single step. She is starting to realize that asking me questions makes her a better student and helps her do well.

Algebra Tutoring review by Denise in Minneapolis, MN
Today we worked through a few SAT problems that the student was unable to complete on his own from the section I assigned him. We also worked through 3 problems from his end of course practice exam. He needs some repetition to reinforce some of the concepts from last week, so I gave him a set of practice problems to work on this week, some of which review basic equation solving and others that review simplifying expressions. Since we are only meeting twice a week, I suggested that he also take some time to look online for videos to help review some of the basic concepts. The website also has some practice problems that would be helpful for him to work through, particularly those in the algebra section.

Algebra Tutoring review by Gianna in Minneapolis, MN
We went over topics where the student lost points in his assessment. All but one topic was due to simple mistakes, so that means he knows the information. Additionally, we went over new topics such as absolute values, more complex FOILing and more involved inequalities.

Algebra Tutoring review by David in Minneapolis, MN
Today the student and I began with a review of some of the topics we covered during our last session, mainly Gauss elimination and the Gauss-Jordan method. We went over a couple of the review problems together to make sure she understood and remembered how to execute each type of approach. After reviewing, we then went over the identity matrix, matrix multiplication, discriminants, and inverse matrices. Lastly, we covered how to apply Cramer's rule to solve a series of linear equations. Overall, we have now covered every topic that will be on her test on Wednesday. She has seen all of the topics, and gone through examples with me of each of the approaches to solving them, she will now do some practice on her own in order to be prepared for test day. She is certainly progressing. Keep it up!
