Trigonometry Tutoring review by Jacob in Wrigleyville, IL
We went over some more of the student's Algebra two. They have moved on to matrices. We went over what a matrix is and how it relates to a graph. We did shifts, rotations, reflections, and scalars. The left multiplying concept proved to be a little difficult. I feel he understood the scalars and shifts completely but still needs a little assistance going through each problem. As for the rotations and reflections, we ran out of time trying to master those; I believe he needs a little review on left multiplying which he assured me he would get from his teacher, so we can move forward next lesson.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Alla in Wrigleyville, IL
We worked on simplifying rational exponents without the use of a calculator. The student expressed that my lesson on converting roots to (rational) exponents made sense; he was able to apply the new techniques with some fluency by the end of the lesson. He also had improved attentiveness and focus, compared to previous sessions. We were not able to move beyond this lesson to assigned problems on scientific notation, but he felt confident that he understood this topic from previous exposure to it.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by David in Wrigleyville, IL
Concepts covered today included polynomial multiplicity, highest possible degree, how graphs shift, polynomial maximums, and polynomial minimums. The student is not struggling at all conceptually and seems to understand and pick up new information quickly. I taught her a shortcut in squaring the same term, i.e., (x+2)^2. She is receptive to learning the material, and I look forward to the next session.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Dennis in Wrigleyville, IL
During my first session with the student, I got a feel for the material that she was covering, which includes mostly trigonometric identities. I found that she understood most of the topics well, but she had some questions about the meaning of functions and how her teacher came about certain conclusions. I think that it's important that she keeps asking questions and maintains that curiosity because it will allow me to better address her concerns. The big thing with the topic is knowing how and when to use trigonometric identities to manipulate functions and I think as we go through that practice, she will develop a more solid understanding of that technique.
