Statistics Tutoring review by Jasmine in Rhode Island
The student learned detailed information regarding reflections and transformations. The student struggled with understanding the difference between the two. Once the student understood the differences, she was more comfortable with the material. I suggested the student work additional problems from her math book to improve her confidence.

The student learned first and second order differential equations this week, so we spent the hour going over practice problems and examples. He has a midterm next week that he feels ready for, other than the work and energy problems, which he will do some practice with and let me know of he would like to meet again before the midterm. He made some simple errors that can be chalked down to being tired, since he had a long day, but overall it was a good session.

The student made some excellent strides forward in the past few weeks. She came to me with a fear of word problems. This is a student that had all of the tools and then some for her age as far as computation is concerned. However, when she saw word problems she lost all of her confidence. We are now to the point where she is getting confident and it's wonderful to see. I stepped up the difficulty a little bit this week with multi-step word problems. As expected there were some stumbles, but overall she did very well.

The student missed school this past Friday, so we spent the majority of our time prepping for her make up vocabulary quiz. In terms of math we did review her make up assignments and homework due for tomorrow. Her class started estimates versus exact answers in her absence, but she needed little review to pick up the topic. Starting Monday, we will be meeting twice weekly.

The student needed help adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. We broke down the process and went step-by-step. By the end of the session, he had the process 90-95% mastered. He also completed a science study guide for a quiz he was preparing for.

Statistics Tutoring review by Rebecca in Rhode Island
The student needed help understanding her homework, so we worked on that together during the tutoring session. The topics covered on the homework were a review of linear functions, quadratic functions, and power functions - which is more than a quarter of the topics covered in her previous year's mathematics class - and so it wasn't that she didn't know how to do the work, she just needed help remembering it all. That was how most of the session went - we'd read over the problem, review the terms and processes needed, then solve without any real issue. We had a little bit more difficulty with creating a regression line for power functions, but were able to use the homework program's guide to review how to solve the problem. She will contact me the next time she needs assistance with her precalculus work.
