ISEE Tutoring review by Hilary in Winnetka, IL
The student and I went over practice test that he had taken since last time I saw him. We discussed more strategy about hard questions and tackling the easy and medium ones first. He practiced some critical reading sections as well as vocabulary. For his work for the week he's going to complete the practice test that we started in the session.

ISEE Tutoring review by Andrew in Winnetka, IL
We reviewed the last SAT test the student took and the problems she got wrong. I emphasized the need to be sure of "what is being asked," stick to facts in reading passages, eliminate wrong answers, select the "least worst answer," read around lines being referenced to understand context, and read aloud and summarize general "point" of passages to better anticipate questions and correct answers. I recommended that the student purchase an SAT prep test book for test taking tactics and strategy and use vocabulary cards to increase her vocabulary. I asked the student to, in the 4 weeks remaining until her SAT test, take and complete 2 of the practice tests in the SAT study guide. The student seems to appreciate the test taking tactics I've presented and understand how to reproduce the correct answers. We set our next meeting for Friday.
