Trigonometry Tutoring review by Kevin in Winnetka, IL
I met with the students yesterday and continued teaching both of them some math concepts to keep them ahead of their classwork. I started with the first student, who is starting to work with equivalent fractions using "fraction strips". These are pretty basic so I tried to take equivalent fractions to the next level with her and she was happy to learn a bit more. I wanted to stress order of operations with her again and we did some advanced problems and she was able to stay organized and solve them correctly. I left her some homework that has to deal with negative numbers, simple algebra, and one last PEMDAS problem. The second student and I started to move ahead and I showed him some basic trigonometry by explaining the Sine, Cosine and Tangent relationships. He kept saying "this is hard" but then he was able to solve the problems pretty easily so I think he was just being dramatic. I enjoy teaching both of them new things.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Andrew in Winnetka, IL
We covered the four methods of solving systems of linear equations (substitution, elimination, graphing and matrices). We also went in depth on matrices and matrix operations. We then went through some of his PreCalc homework which was mostly inequalities (graphs, interval notation and compound inequalities). Lastly, we went over some practice ACT problems that I had given him a couple weeks ago. He is progressing very well. His goal is to do well on the ACT and I believe we will achieve this.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Jayada in Winnetka, IL
Today was our first tutoring session, and we covered the following topics: 1). Factor polynomials: using 7 different algebraic identities, by grouping, diamond method, and box method. 2). Solve linear equations using zero product property and by factoring. 3). Multiply and simplify polynomials. 4). Write equations of perpendicular lines passing through a given point. 5). Solve the system of liner equations: graphing method, using matrix on calculator, and Cramer's rule. 6). Evaluate functions. The student struggled using distributive property while factoring the polynomials, and the effects on slopes when given two lines are perpendicular( perpendicular lines have opposite and reciprocal slopes) or parallel. We will continue to clarify these subjects in future sessions.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Jackson in Winnetka, IL
After a quick bit of catching up we dove straight into the work. The student has a large packet of algebra problems that is due on Friday. We finished half of the packet today and our plan is to go through the rest tomorrow. We covered rational expressions, which for the most part was easy for her to understand.
