Anatomy Tutoring review by Eduard in Orem, UT
The student's class has started going over equilibrium reactions. We went over how to write equilibrium constants, and what to deduce from their values. We also went over Le Chatelier's Principle, which he had no trouble understanding.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Nick in Orem, UT
The student is working on wave concepts in class and had some questions on constructive and destructive interference. I provided graphical demonstrations of both types and sent her some links to demonstrations. The main place she struggled was with a complicated problem involving the lowest number of modes of two interfering waves; I presented a bit about the background to the solution using traveling waves then we solved the problem using a general equation for interference.

We went over a problem we have repeated over the last couple sessions. We had done it correctly, but the student's teacher wanted her to calculate the magnitude of the net magnetic field by first finding x and y components (previously we did not find x and y components separately since the vectors were already perpendicular). We then went over a cyclotron motion problem, and a couple of induced current problems, mostly just using the right hand rule. Then we talked about Maxwell's laws, which include a new term added to Ampere's law that reveals that changing electric flux induces a magnetic field. We then did a problem to calculate the induced magnetic field from a changing electric field inside a parallel plate capacitor. The student is doing a good job learning the material, and is very good about making sure she knows how to use the right hand rule correctly, and about taking notes to review and study from.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Tim in Orem, UT
The student and I covered axial and bending loads on I beams. He understands how to set up and constructively answer questions on combined loading. He was very positive towards the material reviewed, and we implemented visualization as a strategy to determine if bending stresses were positive or negative. He had homework due in four days, with problems that were similar to the material covered today.

The student and I covered chapter 6 today to continue preparing her for her upcoming test. The main topics we covered were ideal gas law and mole fractions. We did multiple practice problems for each topic. We also went through her notes slide by slide again to ensure her understand of all of the topics in the chapter. She understood them fully after we went through them. She could even see how some of the topics could be asked as multiple choice questions or the like. As with our last session, she found all of the material much more manageable after we went through it. She is going to continue to go over practice problems from the textbook to study this material further. I also think we should go back over some of the material from the first test if time permits.
