Anatomy Tutoring review by Nathan in Lehi, UT
The student and I worked through several homework problems covering rotational momentum and torque. He seemed to do pretty well with most of the problems. He did pretty well with identifying moment of inertia for various objects as well. He will need to continue to practice problems with angular momentum though. I don't think they've covered it much in class though, so that's to be expected. As the school week plays out, it should make more sense to him as his teacher talks about it in class.

The student and I worked through some questions from her outline/study guide for her upcoming test today on the skeletal system, including lymphatics, muscles, and blood types. We worked through most concepts, and I let her know to also watch some videos so that she get a visual understanding as well. She has a test today and will do well. I am proud she has made improvement in her last test as well.

The student and I worked through the current topic of her Biology course. The class is currently learning mitosis and meiosis, along with the genetics corresponding to mistakes in cellular reproduction. Specifically, she was having trouble understanding the incidence of nondisjunction in meiosis. We discussed the concept of nondisjunction of meiosis 1 and meiosis 2, before moving onto the genetic disorders that may result from common nondisjunction. Then, we reviewed five additional mutation possibilities of meiosis. Lastly, she practiced the concepts we covered in today's session using a quiz and a review of the previous sessions topics.

The student and I worked through the remainder of the problems that he will see on his final exam. He had particular questions on fluids in motion, torque, and buoyancy. As we worked through the problems, I noticed that he had a better understanding of how to manipulate expressions to solve for individual values as compared with when we first started meeting. He has received A's on his last two exams, so if he follows the same study habits for this final, he should do very well.

The student and I worked through the review sheet for her exam, which focused on the ideal gas law, combined gas law, and Dalton's law of partial pressures. Today she did very well, but still needs some practice with mole fractions and partial pressures. We will continue to work on that. She has some extra practice problems, and is going to let me know if she needs help with them.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Sahar in Lehi, UT
The student and I worked through two worksheets concerning homeostasis and positive/negative feedback in the human body. While he required some direction in terms of how to phrase answers to questions and required help in figuring out where to find answers to questions within the text, after answering questions together, he definitely seemed to have a much better grasp on the concepts than when we began the tutoring session. The only homework I gave him was to organize his biology binder by unit(s) using dividers.
