The three-story mansion sits on Main Street in the city and is open as a museum. Built in 1867, the mansion's 25 rooms display the history of the family that lived there as well as the restoration of the building. The rooms have been set up to replicate formal parlors, dining rooms, bedrooms, a kitchen, and a laundry room of the time period. School groups are able to tour the museum and listen to historically dressed speakers give lessons on late 19th-century life, community, art, and architecture. The Carnegie Center for Arts and History is also located right in town. The center offers group tours of the permanent exhibits as well as special exhibits. Visit the museum with the whole family for one of the family fun workshops. The events are held the second Saturday each month throughout the year and are completely free.
