Biology Tutoring review by Ali Reza in Riverdale, IL
We went over the electronic structures of the atoms and orbitals and discuss the hybridization of the atoms. We solved some problems related to Lewis Structures and hybridization. I asked the student to let me know in advance about her problems so that I can prepare more materials for her . No concerns.

Biology Tutoring review by Everett in Riverdale, IL
We went over solubility and using Ksp values to determine if a salt will dissolve in solution. Given the practice problems, the student showed impressive progress since previous sessions. Her problem solving ability has improved and she seems more confident to tackle problems that are just beyond her current ability. Future sessions will preview quantum mechanics and bonding theory since these topics have yet to be discussed in class. Excellent session.

The student got a 91 on her last test! She was very excited. Today we reviewed for her final which she is taking on Saturday. We went over stoichiometry problems, molarity and volume problems, titrations, empirical formulas, and a little bit of net ionic and redox reactions. We also went over solubility. We will meet again Friday before her exam Saturday to continue reviewing.

Biology Tutoring review by Claire in Riverdale, IL
Today I went over the practice test I made for the student and isolated the issues she was having when naming compounds and writing out their equations. She was having the most problem identifying and naming acids. I clarified the definitions of acid, cation, and anion, and then broke down the rules for naming them. The second most common mistake she made was from just not knowing the name of complex anions - the only solution to this is just to memorize them. I asked her to take the week to memorize 1/3 of the names and charges of anions listed on a sheet I left with her. Each time I see her I will be giving a very brief quiz over the names she should be memorizing to see how her progress is going. We spent the other half of the time working on moles, molecules and percent composition problem. She excelled at this topic and needed very little help from me.

Biology Tutoring review by Spurthi in Riverdale, IL
This was my first session with the student and I think it went very well. We focused more on reviewing concepts for her exam tomorrow on periodic trends and electron configuration. She was having the most difficulty with understanding the sublevels for atomic orbitals but I tried my best to explain them. I also provided her with several Online resources that cover the topic well. Starting next week we will work on kinetics, bonding, and vsepr models of molecular bonding so I will prepare a lesson ahead of time.

Biology Tutoring review by Bijin in Riverdale, IL
We spent today's session working on a lab that the student had due. The lab was designing a hand warmer. The lab explored the topics of heat of reactions. The student was able to understand the concepts, but could not understand what the lab was asking due to limited instructions. We worked through some sample calculations for what she might be expected to know.
