GRE Tutoring review by Morgan in Riverdale, IL
We first went over the practice sections that the student did in English and Reading. We talked about strategies to correct next time and went over a more specific review of English rules. We also talked about the Science section (which details to focus on, how to approach the different kinds of passages) and the Essay (what traits the graders always look for, how to expand on details and examples, and brainstorming a sample prompt).

GRE Tutoring review by Jessica in Riverdale, IL
First, we reviewed some of the student's school work.  Then we selected a book from the library, which he read aloud to me.  After reading, we focused on spelling and handwriting. He used the white board to spell the words as I read them to him.  We grouped the words he was having trouble with by vowel sounds in order to see how they were similar and different.

GRE Tutoring review by Kyle in Riverdale, IL
The student had begun to review material from earlier in the semester in her math class. During our session we worked on simplifying polynomials. She did a really great job simplifying the polynomials up until there were fractions within a fraction. We did all of these types of problems together. The first few I showed her how to do then I helped her with the next few by asking her pointed questions as she did the work herself. I feel that she did much better with the concepts this time around than when the material was new to her.

GRE Tutoring review by Michelle in Riverdale, IL
Today the student and I reviewed the second essay she prepared in order to practice her written skills for the  test she has to take  in Spanish. She did an amazing job and as before, I helped her identify small errors and places where a higher level of vocabulary could be used. I brought a book on  an artist  that student is interested in studying; we looked at the paintings and discussed what influenced the  artist. From there, we reviewed the future tense in Spanish.

GRE Tutoring review by Antonio in Riverdale, IL
As a usual ice breaker, the student told me in Spanish how her Spanish class was going in school, what was new, what was difficult, and where were the weaknesses.   We worked on Preterite and Imperfect tenses. She has seen them in class but she was a little bit confused about the proper uses of both tenses. After that we focused on informal conversation responses. She is doing good, she understands most of the conversation, and she follows up with correct responses. We have to work on proper colloquial expressions, varied context topics, formal and informal situation and provide accurate and relevant questions or answers.   It is always a pleasure to work with her. She has sharp questions, she pays a lot of attention, and she learns really fast new concepts.
