Tutoring review by Eunki in New Brighton, MN
As it was our first session, so we spent the first several minutes in getting a sense of where the student was in terms of his comprehension of algebra. Once we established a starting point, we began working on learning and understanding slope-intercept form, the standard form, and the use of these equations to plot points and their corresponding functions (lines) onto a coordinate plane. Additionally, we covered slopes and intercepts as part of learning how to use equations to plot different types of graphs.

Tutoring review by Bill in New Brighton, MN
The student and I covered topics from his homework including but not limited to applications of finding the point slope equations when given two points on a graph and/ or given a point on a graph and the slope, finding the slopes of perpendicular lines and parallel lines given the slope, finding the solution sets to linear functions (straight lines), parallel lines, and perpendicular lines, and inequalities, defining a function given the parameters in word problems, and applications in the form of the average global temperature of the earth currently, during the ice age, and warmer than current conditions with reference to change vs distance. The student was very cooperative throughout the session. He seemed to forget some material that we have covered previously. But that is to be expected since we haven't been working as frequently as we had been. I will make sure he regains all the knowledge he previously had.

Tutoring review by Nicole in New Brighton, MN
The student had homework for makeup work. Her homework covered one-step equations with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. These problems reviewed many concepts, including integers, fractions, and decimals. She needed a reminder on operations with fractions, decimal division, and integers. We were able to get through most of her makeup work, so she only has one page left to do.

The student and I studied the mid chapter quiz. She knows the materials. If she can avoid some simple mistakes and be a little bit more patient with the questions, she will have no problems with the quiz. Good luck!
