I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I received my undergraduate degree in biology from Trinity University. I completed my M.D. with honors at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. I attained a score of 276 (99th percentile) on STEP 2 and was nominated to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
