I am an incoming sophomore at Smith College where I am majoring in both physics and astronomy. I have a strong passion and love for both of these subjects and I am so excited to help others explore them! Education in STEM is extremely important to me. I've always loved helping others, but I especially love helping people to appreciate the beauty of the universe we live in through math, physics and astronomy!Aside from science I also love history, reading, going on walks, drawing, listening to music, and watching films. I enjoy taking drives to the beach and stargazing as well! I also love to spend time with my dog and two cats.I am looking forward to working with you, and as Albert Einstein said: "Most of the fundamental ideas of science are essentially simple, and may, as a rule, be expressed in a language comprehensible to everyone."

I am a chemical engineering student at the University of Houston minoring in chemistry. I have tutored for the mathematics department at the University of Houston- at CASA (Center for Academic Support and Assessment. I have experience tutoring algebra, pre-calculus, college algebra, geometry, business calculus, calculus I-III, chemistry, organic chemistry, computing for engineers (MATLAB, Excel)- middle school to college level. My favorite subject to tutor is math because it is the one subject that can be used as a tool to understand, communicate and define all other scientific languages (chemistry, physics, engineering, etc.). I like relating the concepts that I tutor to real life applications and their importance to our everyday life. My experience has been that it really helps students become more proficient in what they are learning. I am quite interested in volunteering for my community, such as teaching English or computer skills to people who really need them. I am also interested in history, sociology, and philosophy. I was a district debate champion in the high school Lincoln-Douglas Debate (philosophy debate). Two of my favorite movies are "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" and "4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days."

How do you learn best? What is your learning style? How can I best help you learn more effectively? These are the questions that guide me when I sit down to help a new student. A mentor once told me that there are no learning disabled students, there are only teaching disabled instructors. I am always looking for new approaches to benefit every student better.

I recently graduated from law school and attended college at Saint Mary's in Indiana. I am originally from the Austin, TX area but am happy to call Chicago "home". As a younger student English and Social Studies always came easily to be but I struggled with Math quite a bit and had to work hard to master the subject material. I understand the position of being a student working to understand a difficult concept and I think that helps me when tutoring students. I tutored high school and elementary students in high school and college.Outside of law school and tutoring I enjoy exploring our beautiful city, picking up interesting books at book fairs and used book festivals and taste testing cider. I'm a laid back and patient tutor which I think helps when working with a student who is struggling in addition to having been in their position at one time myself.

I am a senior at Temple University, striving towards my Masters degree in Media Studies and Production. I teach a variety of subjects including writing, music production and different software. I have had experience tutoring as a summer camp counselor at a writing intensive camp, as well as gotten to know different learning styles of students as a Resident Assistant at my university. In my spare time, I like reading, watching sitcoms and getting coffee with friends.

A twenty-year veteran teacher, I currently teach 11th-grade English and college-level writing. I model reading, writing, and public speaking, and provide non-examples for further understanding. My students have shown growth in their aptitudes and benefit greatly from my contagious enthusiasm and my ability to relate content to the students' everyday lives. I value independent practice in order to maintain consistency and promote diligent work habits, and I have an uncanny ability to alleviate students' apprehension by using innovating learning tools, meeting students where they are.I have extensive tutoring and test prep experience. I am a 2023 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Finance/Economics major and a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. I am a passionate student in the math and business realms, as I enjoy the intuitiveness of the former and the real-world potential of the latter. During classes in middle and high school, I developed a reputation of being a good source of help within my classes in a non-tutor capacity, and grew that into a peer tutor role a couple times a week during lunch my senior year of high school. What I hope to accomplish with my tutoring is ensure that you not only achieve your desired grade/score, but see how the different concepts relate to each other in the bigger picture. The more important part is to critically think about the subject matter in other, more unfamiliar contexts. Also, in my math subjects, I seek to provide personal secrets in realms including quicker computation strategies, unique acronyms for certain rules, and other intuitive shortcuts.
