Had to correct a couple of answers to the homework, which had to do with a stone attached to a string and it swung in a circular path. I had to point out that there's no torque applied in that situation. After going through the online problems, we did a few textbook problems on rotational kinematics. Today we went over a review sheet of basic kinematics. The student said that his teacher hadn't gone over some of the material so I showed him how to manipulate the linear displacement equation. He picked it up pretty quickly and we moved seamlessly through the rest of the exercises. He has a strong grasp on the physics we've been working on, and I expect he will do very well on his next test.

We then worked on some review problems for her upcoming physics test on Monday. She has the basic idea behind vectors and scalars and just needs some practice.

We went over the last exam and the latest homework. The mistakes on the past exam were mostly related to calculating the distance traveled by the charged particle in a roundabout manner, since in each case the distance or velocity was not given directly and required geometry to reason. The homework questions were related to induced voltage due to a change in magnetic flux. In the two problems we looked at, the flux was produced by a change in area, flux=BA, so d(flux)=BdA, and the area could be characterized by one side x. The flux can be found by integrating, but since we know the final area, we could skip that step entirely. In the second question, the changing flux can be characterized by the velocity of the moving bar, since the velocity affects the growths of the area, and using geometry it can be put in a general term dependent only on the velocity.
