Session Summaries by Latin Tutors

Latin Tutoring review by Michael in Morton Grove, IL
This was a very vocab heavy session. We reviewed vegetables, meats, cereals, and beverages. We then reviewed malls, restaurants, waiters, bills, tips, types of transportation, concerts, music, tickets, and venues, as well as theaters. We then worked with our o to ue and e to I stem changing verbs, as well as three regular verbs. We looked at the prepositions here and there. This was a good, quick session.

Latin Tutoring review by Lauren in Morton Grove, IL
The student and I made a list of what he'd like to work on based on what he's having difficulty with in class. So, we started with the first (and arguably most important) thing on the list: the preterite versus imperfect. We covered regular preterite of AR/ER/IR verbs, as well as the 5 categories of irregular preterite. I broke all 25 verbs into these 5 categories to make them more manageable for him. I also provided him with acronyms to make them more easily remembered. He said this helped a lot. I instructed him to go over all verbs and acronyms by writing them down and/or saying a sentence aloud before we meet again Wednesday. He was very fun to work with and enjoys trying to create with the language.
