I was introduced to tutoring through a love of helping my friends succeed, and finding wonderful friends that helped me succeed. The feeling of understanding something is amazing, and the feeling of helping someone understand something is rewarding. Above all, I encourage critical thinking in everything I teach. Memorizing formulas and facts is good for short-term learning, but to truly understand a concept it is necessary to stimulate our minds to see patterns and connections.

My name is Talia and I am excited to be joining the Varsity Tutors team! I have a background in Architecture, Geography and Spanish, but have an interest in many things including art and design. I love drawing and making comics, and I am especially passionate about inter-disciplinary education.
