Education is one of the most valuable tools that a person can have in their lifetime. I am a strong advocate for teaching students not only academic material, but also how to appreciate learning and how to master useful skills in academia. I personally love learning and loved school (yes, a bit nerdy, I know). My goal is to teach my students how to reframe their attitudes towards academic subjects in order for them to achieve their highest potential!
I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Miami in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and I am currently a first year medical student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Over the years, I have enjoyed a lot of academic success. I believe that the secret to succeeding in school is not just to memorize content, but to truly own one's learning and enjoy the process of gaining mastery of a subject.
I have been a tutor for over six years in a variety of courses and with very diverse clientele. My current strong points are science courses (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, etc.), foreign languages (German and Spanish), and English writing/composition. I can teach all these subjects from a beginner's level to a college/university level.
Surprisingly, although my educational background is very science-intense, I enjoy teaching English writing and composition the most! I like teaching students how to find their voice in writing and I think that writing is one of the most important life skills you will use, no matter what field you go into.
My philosophy in teaching is that each student can master a course by finding the study modes and study tools best suited to them. Our brains are all wired differently, and as a result our learning styles are unique to us too! I like to tailor my lessons and goals to each student's goals, academic strengths, and perceived weaknesses. I also like to teach non-academic skills that will help students succeed such as resilience, creativity and curiosity.
Outside of my laboratory work and teaching, I love spending time outside. I used to compete in Triathlons (pre-pandemic) and cycle quite frequently. Nowadays, I spend more time painting and hanging out with my cat.
Undergraduate Degree: University of Miami - Bachelor of Science, Neuroscience
In my free time, I love to spend time outside. I enjoy running and cycling outdoors. I also like to paint in my free time!
