Just spent the past hour and a half studying micro-economics with my tutor Patrick for my final in a couple hours. He showed great knowledge of the subject and saved my countless hours from trying to find the formulas and correct explanations for my troubling problems and confusions.

Fen made all the difference. My son who was panic stricken in preparing for an extremely difficult economics final was able to pass the course and graduate from NYU. Fen was not only incrdeiblly knowledgeable but was also an amazing tutor. Patient and able to find ways to help Ben commit the vast amount of information to memory. Varsity was wonderful in every way and we appreciate having had them to turn to.

The student continue to make progress on his Money Mondays final project. We completed Money Monday 4 and started on 5 today. We also discussed and reviewed the outstanding questions he has to get answered by his teacher. I continue to show him how to organize each write up and how to explain his decision making in a clear, structured fashion so that his teacher can follow and give him full credit, especially in terms of how to include his supporting, tangible evidence.

Economics Tutoring review by Elnora in Glendale, AZ
The student and I worked through another learning activity related to macroeconomics, and the topic of focus was fiscal policy. Concepts included expansionary vs. contractionary policy and when each strategy should be applied (a recession vs. inflationary environment); the calculation of disposable or total income taking into consideration taxes and transfer payments; the application of the MPC and/or MPS in order to calculate the government spending, tax, and transfer payment multipliers (and then the impact of a change in each upon GDP and the economy); and specific activities or actions that can be taken under fiscal policy options. He continues to be proactive in completing these each week and finds that working through these in advance is beneficial.

Economics Tutoring review by Fen in Glendale, AZ
Since our session yesterday, the student met with her professor for feedback on her Consumer Confidence Index analysis and presentation. We talked through the professor's comments and I helped her edit and condense her PowerPoint to match his specifications. We then rehearsed the presentation a couple times so I could make sure she understood everything she would be saying, and could also answer questions from her classmates about the material. She is going to send me her write-up of the presentation (which she also has to turn in) before she submits it, so I can tell her if there's anything she needs to fix.

Economics Tutoring review by Travis in Glendale, AZ
We covered indifference curves and the monetary system. He seemed to have greater interest in the monetary system. I drew graphs and asked him to describe the scenarios they depicted. I also encouraged him to look up how indifference curves applied to the Irish potato famine.
