Elementary Math Tutoring review by Farah in Glendale, AZ
The student was able to complete all of our subjects. She completed her grammar workbook exercises covering articles and classifying more sentences. Then, we went on to cover some new phonograms and spelling rules before I quizzed her on list G #1-10. Then, we worked on simple and increasing patterns with color tiles in math. With the couple of minutes left over, we practiced cursive L/l.

The student and I focused on subtraction during our session tonight. We completed a couple of different subtraction worksheets and played a subtraction card game. I noticed that she has quite a bit of difficulty with subtraction problems using numbers in the teens. She seemed to progress during our session, and I think with more practice, she will have it mastered pretty quickly.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Christopher in Glendale, AZ
The student is able to understand 1st grade word problems concerning math with relative ease. He can read the problem and determine whether or not addition or subtraction is needed. He can write the equations to the questions with little help. His writing is incredible for his age. The only concept he needs to work on is labeling his answers (i.e. instead of writing 8, write 8 nickels for the answer). I want him to work on 1st grade math for a little bit before I challenge him.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Shaneequa in Glendale, AZ
We covered multiplying whole numbers and fractions. The student struggled with analyzing her word problems. She was very positive. I explained to her how to think of a fraction bar as a symbol for division. I told her to continue to practice multiplying whole numbers and fractions. She really impressed me! Towards the end of session she was working out problems perfectly without my help.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Thien--Gia in Glendale, AZ
The concepts that we covered specifically were the student's issues with division. What he struggles with mostly is time. He is semi-confident with the subject, but he feels rushed during class. His attitude towards the subject is fine. He isn't resistant to being taught new strategies, but whenever he is placed with a time constraint, that is when mistakes start to rise. I did teach him some short cuts that should speed him through the problems a little faster so he can focus more on the problems and less on the time.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Richard in Glendale, AZ
The student was her usual bubbly and excited self. We talked at length about a number of issues prior to focusing on math. These included her health, involvement in swimming, relationships with classmates at school, and some of the feelings she experiences. She wanted me to know about her upcoming teacher conference and that she is doing well in class. After that, we focused on multiplication of ones and tens problems. With some prompting and redirection, she was able to complete 3 to 4 pages of multiplication problems with an accuracy rate of about 80%. She seemed pleased with what she accomplished today. I was, too.
