Economics Tutoring review by Joe in Connecticut
Tomorrow is the student's last final. He still has some energy left for his Spanish and math final tomorrow. Since he said that he was strong in math and weak in Spanish, we allocated time accordingly. He only needs to practice percentage increases (and decreases) and surface area. For Spanish, I helped him construct a detailed study plan based on his lowest test grades and the review sheet provided.

Today was the student's first session, so I asked him some general questions about chemistry to see how much he knows. We had to start from the very basics, but he is understanding the concepts after doing a couple of practice problems, so he's advancing.

Worked with the student on the first of a few practice tests I've found for his grade level. The more we do these standardized tests together, the more his comprehension and level of competency increases. But more than anything, I'm proud of his confidence in approaching these tests. It's great to see the change from our earliest sessions when he would get frustrated and discouraged easily. Good session.

Economics Tutoring review by Daniel in Connecticut
The student is preparing for her upcoming biology final. The final will cover 20 chapters worth of material. We began the session by going over some of her homework that covered electrophoresis. Afterward, we covered two chapters covering DNA replication, transcription, and translation. We ended the session by doing various practice questions, and reviewing subjects along the way. We will be meeting again on Friday, will be continuing from where we left off. Her final will be covering a large amount of material, and an extensive review seems necessary to prepare for it.

Economics Tutoring review by Elnora in Connecticut
The student and I started reviewing Chapter 13 which covers production costs and related concepts. We discussed the definitions associated with production costs and he obtained a better understanding of the production function, the graph that shows the relationship between inputs and outputs, and how additional inputs increase output. We also reviewed the concepts related to marginal product of labor, and the difference between fixed vs. variable costs, marginal costs, and average costs (fixed, variable, and total). We covered the difference between implicit (opportunity) and explicit costs, and accounting vs. economic profit (total revenue - all costs - implicit and explicit). There were several graphs and calculations we reviewed as well.
