Tutoring review by Miranda in Lancaster, NY
This was a great first session with the student. We focused on the math section on inverse variation. I went through the lesson with her, letting her do the practice problems. I made sure to emphasize concepts, like when one variable increases, the other decreases. I also made sure she understood the different ways the equation could be written. She seemed to pick it all up quickly. She was comfortable with using algebra to manipulate the equations, and she didn't mind fractions or decimals. She was able to complete the homework all on her own.

It was good to see the student again. During this session, he primarily worked on his chemistry homework. This involved a mix of stoichiometry and thermodynamics. We addressed a few of his concerns in math. He is doing well and I will see him again soon. Good job!

Today I reviewed all of the student's homework with him. I left him comments on his essay, and went over all the questions he answered incorrectly in the math and CR practice problems. He did perfectly on the writing portion. We then did some more in- session problems to further reinforce what he had mistakes/ trouble with. He also asked me questions regarding the comments on his essay and I clarified them for him. I have assigned him another essay and more problems for him to do.

Tutoring review by Chelsea in Lancaster, NY
We worked on finishing the paragraph we started this week. We also worked more on place value, adding in word form and expanded form. We also did a greater than/ less than comparison game, which she had a little trouble with. She was okay when the first number was different, but had trouble when the first two numbers were the same. We will continue to play the game until she is a pro.
