Tonight we covered a review of the circulatory/cardiovascular system including function of the system, major organs/structures involved, the heart beat, the 4 chambers of the heart, and the 2 major loops of the heart (right and left) that help to circulate blood from the body and back out towards the body as well. Overall this was a great session filled with lots of new terminology and definitions. The student will need to spend time on her own reviewing the flow of the blood through the heart as well as all the different types and functions of the blood vessels. I am very proud of how far she has come in our time together. She has been able to better apply her scientific knowledge to form her own definitions and summaries. I will also be sending her additional work on both the digestive system and the circulatory system so that she can practice before her last quiz.

Tonight we went through the student's review packet for his biology final. He feels pretty good with the majority of the content, but I made sure to send him some resources to help as he studies/ preps, and we went over some of the material we had done earlier in the semester. He seems to be more confident and catching on quicker, so I wish him the very best!

Physiology Tutoring review by Michael in Huntington Park, CA
Today we began studying for the student's upcoming cumulative final in Biology. We did this through use of an extensive flashcard collection on the topic of High School biology, as it afforded us a direct way to cover many varied and random topics and terms that might appear on the student's test. We went through each question, stopping to delve further into some topics, and noting others for later review. The student has retained much of the information she learned this year and looks forward to reviewing all of it for the test. Also, the student received an A on the last test we studied for together! Kudos to her and her focus, and we are looking to arrange extra sessions to prepare her for the upcoming final.

Physiology Tutoring review by Dominique in Huntington Park, CA
During our session the student and I reviewed her study guide for her Biology exam. We covered parasitism, mutualism, and commensalism. The student didn't have any issues with the animal behavior chapter, cellular respiration, or ecology. However the equation for photosynthesis, evolution, and DNA replication presented more of a challenge that we will work on next time. The student's attitude was great as we turn our attention to her final. My suggestion was to review the chapters presenting the most difficulty, but no additional extra credit was left. The student reported she had an 83 in her Biology course. This is amazing and a reflection of the hard work she put into this semester. This entire semester has been a win from my viewpoint. The student is a bright young lady, and it has been my pleasure to be a part of her success.
