I earned my Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Neuroscience with Phi Beta Kappa Honors from UC San Diego. I have a passion for the sciences, especially Chemistry and Biology. I have a love for learning and I believe this enthusiasm really helps my students become excited about the subject matter. I am confident in my ability to teach both Chemistry and Biology for all grade levels, including college level courses. I also have an extensive background with Physics, Biochemistry, and Algebra as well. While I was a student at UCSD, I worked as an undergraduate Teaching Assistant for several distinguished biology professors. I have taught more than 150 different students, each with their own personal skill levels. I take pride in being able to cater my teaching style to each student’s individual needs. I have been exposed to the material from both a student and teacher's perspective and I have learned the most effective strategies to help you succeed.
My goal as a tutor is to not only teach you the material, but to also teach you the most effective way to learn and study as well. I believe learning should be a fun process and I enjoy incorporating humor within my lesson plans to keep my students engaged. Through the many AP courses and upper division science classes I have taken and excelled in, I am confident that I can provide you with the tools to succeed in any course. I encourage students to learn the main concepts as opposed to just memorizing information, which I believe will then allow them to tackle even the most difficult problems. I have also worked as a piano theory teacher for students of all ages and am therefore comfortable teaching all grade levels.
I recently applied to medical school as I aspire to become a physician. During my free time, I enjoy working out, watching and playing basketball, and eating. I look forward to helping you succeed!
