I have been an educator for over 25 years. I started my career as a Special Education teacher and am now currently a High School Principal for a small Private Special Education school. Although I am no longer in the classroom I love helping students with their class work and seeing the light in their eyes when they realize they just grasped a new concept or solved a new math problem.I earned a Sixth Year Degree in Educational Leadership, Master's Degree and Bachelor's Degree both in Special Education from Southern Connecticut State University.I love using a hands on approach to teaching and meeting students where they are. It is my goal to take students to their goal level at their pace however quickly or slowly that maybe.When I am not working I love to be outside in the warm weather with my family or scrapbooking memories of the past. I enjoy walking my dog and going to the beach.

I earned my first degree at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. After graduating with my undergraduate degree I taught high school for two years in Fargo, ND and then decided I wanted to do something different. I applied to grad schools and was accepted to Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. I moved to New Jersey where I went to school and taught for them while they paid my tuition for grad school along with a small stipend. I lived in Jersey for a year and a half and then moved to Brooklyn, NY. I lived there for another year and a half. I missed MN and decided to move back in 2005. I have taught students from 12 to 60 years of age, different cultures, skills and backgrounds; in all areas of English, reading and especially writing. I am passionate and get to know my students. That is partially why I am successful in helping them to achieve their goals and go beyond expectations! Tutoring and teaching is a noble profession and I take pride in being an educator. I will not let a student leave feeling confused or frustrated. My students are successful and gain incredible knowledge of the subject and of themselves.I enjoy the outdoors and all MN sports . I am not the best fisher-person but love it, as well as camping (as long as the mosquitoes are friendly).

Those teaching experiences have been the best of all worlds and the worst.The best experience for a teacher or tutor is being granted the opportunity to help a person grow in his/her skills. Observing the growth in confidence cannot be beat as a best experience for any tutor.The worst experience for a tutor or teacher is watching a student struggle, but refuse help. I closely monitor student progress, and also am more than open to emailing and meeting at the student’s convenience.As far as my personality goes, I am a very caring, silly, open-minded individual.
