If you are thinking about taking the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) soon, Varsity Tutors can help you maximize your preparation efforts with Albany GMAT prep solutions. We offer classes and can help you connect with a private instructor, depending on your personal preferences, learning needs, academic goals, and schedule. Whether you just graduated from the University at Albany with a bachelor's degree in public health and you want to jump into graduate studies, or you've spent years building your professional reputation and now want to pursue an advanced degree in business administration from Albany State University, we can help you prepare.
The GMAT is the exam of choice for most business school admissions. You will need to be adept in four critical areas if you want to perform at your best on exam day. Each skill evaluated was carefully chosen by experts from some of the country's top business schools, who know what it takes to succeed in all areas of business. For more than 50 years, the test has been reviewed and improved to ensure it accurately represents the most current skills and techniques as methodologies and technology evolves.
Your GMAT score will be carefully considered by admissions officials and can play a prominent role in deciding who is allowed into a program and who is told to apply elsewhere. With so much riding on how you well you do on this one exam, do you want to risk preparing for it on your own? Competition for limited positions in many graduate programs means it's more important than ever to leverage any advantage you can to help you prepare to do your best on the GMAT.
What can Albany GMAT prep cover?
The GMAT covers four general areas; Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. You only have slightly more than three hours to complete all four sections. However, that time is not evenly distributed. You only have 30 minutes for the Analytical Writing Assessment and Integrated Reasoning sections while Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning each allow just over an hour. Knowing how much time you will have is essential to keep in mind during as you prepare for the exam and on test day. Just because you finish one section with fifteen minutes to spare, don't think you'll get to use those minutes on the next part, so it's imperative you can complete all questions on time. Professional GMAT prep resources can help you make sure your timing is on point.
Some of the specific concepts you'll need to be well versed in are critical reasoning, standard English grammar conventions, reading comprehension, writing, math, identifying and evaluating pertinent data, and much more. The list of topics and skills you should review before attempting the GMAT is extensive. That's why working with people who are familiar with both the concepts covered on the test and the format of the exam can be invaluable as you work towards the score you want.
What are the benefits of taking an Albany GMAT prep course?
Gathering high-quality resources and outlining the best plan to prepare for the GMAT adequately is time-consuming and easy to get wrong. Many students undergo their test preparation efforts on their own or with a few friends thinking that their previous academic or career success will have sufficiently prepared them for the test. Or they end up spending months preparing just to make sure they have covered all their bases. This is not the best way to prepare yourself for the GMAT.
If you want to be an effective business leader, you will need to leverage resources to achieve your goals, and that is what utilizing professional Albany GMAT preparation solutions accomplishes. When you register for an Albany GMAT prep class, you will receive skilled instruction from teachers who undergo an extensive interviewing process to ensure they will be able to work with students effectively.
Courses are broken up into individual sections, and new sections begin each week which means you will be able to get started when you are ready. We understand your life is busy, and sometimes you only have small pockets of time to focus on your next goal.
All of the courses are delivered online in a secure learning environment, which means you don't have to factor in time to drive to and from class or worry about the weather, parking, or traffic jams adding to your time commitment. Live instruction is delivered to you in an online classroom setting from your teacher, and you will have the opportunity to engage with peers in your class to support your academic growth.

I graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC in 2008, the oldest English speaking acting conservatory in the world. I graduated Summa from University of St Thomas with a BA in English, and just wrapped up a MS in Data Science from Northwestern. I'm a huge Red Sox fan and love watching detective shows when I have free time.... Positivity. Always. I believe that if a student is given positive tools and is allowed to understand the material rather than be lectured at, they're more likely to do well in the future.

When I was in 8th grade, I was struggling with pre-algebra (I couldn't seem to wrap my head around distance/rate/time problems). I found myself loathing a class I had once loved. I started working with a tutor and going from barely getting by to being successful in that class was a very fulfilling feeling that I hope to continue to pass on to others.... The best teachers are always trying to learn as well.... Get to know his/her likes and dislikes, and identify where they are strong to build up confidence. Create a friendly and casual atmosphere.

Private equity investment professional based in New York City. Hobbies include snowboarding, ballroom dancing, board games and running.... I believe in helping the student to reach the answer on his/her own rather than providing the answer and working backwards. I do this by using three approaches: (1) framing the question and taking it high level, (2) present parallel situations/examples that are easier to comprehend and (3) listening and answering questions/concerns of the student.... In the first session, I believe in establishing goals and ground rules, as well as discussing the student's learning style and my teaching style. Once everyone is on the same page, we can dive into the materials and figure out the proper pacing.
