The GMAT is a 3.5 hour exam designed by business schools to measure a potential graduate student's ability to use critical thinking and analytical skills to succeed in a rigorous MBA course. Divided into 4 sections which measure your problem-solving skills in different ways, it has been trusted for MBA enrollment purposes for over 60 years. With 90% of admissions based on a GMAT score, you'll want to do everything you can to set yourself apart from other applicants to the school of your choice. Taking advantage of excellent GMAT review opportunities can help you work towards a score that reflects your commitment and ability to succeed in your chosen program.

What does Dayton GMAT prep cover?

The GMAT is divided into four different sections: the Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning sections. Each has a different set of skills to assess. Let's take a look at the skills you can cover in a Dayton GMAT prep course when studying for each section.

The Analytical Writing Assessment measures your ability to analyze and critique a written argument. You will not need prior knowledge of the essay topic to perform well on this assessment. Rather, you'll want to use this section to showcase your ability to express your thoughts in a clear and organized manner using logical examples. A GMAT review class can help provide you with opportunities for constructive criticism with regards to your writing process.

The next section evaluates your Integrated Reasoning abilities. In this part of the exam, you'll be asked to look at various sources of data and determine relationships and discrepancies between the sources. You should practice using graphs, bar charts, scatter plots, etc. in order to do well on this section of the assessment. These questions can be either verbal or quantitative in nature and cover a wide range of topics in order to discern your versatility in logical thinking.

The Quantitative Reasoning assessment requires you to use arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and analytical thinking skills to solve problems of a numerical nature. You'll need to answer questions about which data is relevant to a problem and if you have enough information to solve the issue. The difficulty of these questions will come from the logic necessary to complete them and not from the underlying mathematical skills. Working on these questions with an instructor or classmate can help you learn to solve these kinds of problems on exam day.

You'll be assessed on your reading comprehension, critical thinking, and sentence construction skills in the Verbal Reasoning section of the GMAT. You'll need to be able to read a given passage, draw conclusions, and apply the ideas to different contexts in order to perform well on this section. Review lessons on grammar and sentence structure can be greatly beneficial in preparing for this portion of the exam.

What are my options for taking advantage of Dayton GMAT prep?

When you allow Varsity Tutors to support you in your GMAT preparation journey, you'll be able to choose from two excellent review options. You can decide to enroll in one of our interactive online prep classes or work with a private GMAT mentor. No matter which option you elect to use, you'll be gaining the benefit of expert instruction and guided practice. Let's take a closer look at both options.

If you're a social learner, you may want to sign up for an online Dayton GMAT prep course. You'll be able to access your class sessions from the comfort of your own home or anywhere with a computer and high-speed internet using our Live Learning Platform. This gives you access to a collaborative classroom environment where you can speak directly with both your instructor and your classmates. You'll have the opportunity to participate in group projects and discussions. This gives you the structure of a traditional classroom with the flexibility to fit into your schedule. You'll have the opportunity to decide whether you prefer to take a 2-week or 4-week course. Since we have new sessions beginning weekly, you can get started in a course immediately.

If you prefer a less structured environment, you may choose to sign up to work with a private Dayton GMAT tutor. This provides you with the opportunity to create your own schedule with your mentor and focus on the areas you need the most help with instead of reviewing skills you've already mastered. You can access your private study lessons through the same Live Learning Platform, allowing you to have private instruction at the time and place most convenient for you. Working with a private instructor means you have access to customized lessons taught in the learning style which makes the most sense for you.

You can choose to take advantage of either option or can even sign up for both. No matter what your particular needs are, Varsity Tutors can help you pursue the scores you need for an MBA or Masters program.
