Varsity Tutors can connect you to Tulsa GMAT prep services that suit your goals, abilities, and situation. Because of the impact the GMAT can have on your academic career, preparing effectively is important. Many schools such as the Oral Roberts University - Graduate School of Business may look at your GMAT score when they consider your application.
The Graduate Management Admission Test, also known as the GMAT, is a three and a half hour exam that assesses a candidate's ability to succeed in a business school environment. Many students take the GMAT immediately following their undergraduate degree, but many also return to school after working in their field for a time. Regardless of your situation, the GMAT helps schools like the University of Tulsa - Collins College of Business decide whether or not to admit a certain student.
What topics am I able to study during Tulsa GMAT prep?
There are four main sections to the GMAT. These sections are Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, and an Analytical Writing Assessment. You are able to arrange these sections in one of three possible orders on the day of the exam. Before we cover the ways you can study, let's do a brief overview of each section.
The Quantitative Reasoning section of the exam features questions that are based around objective information. You must respond to the 31 questions using logical and mathematical reasoning in an effective manner. While some questions ask you to simply choose the best answer based on the provided data, others require you to determine if the data is sufficient to answer the question being asked. You will have 62 minutes to complete this section, and your score will fall between 0 and 60. Scores outside of 6 to 51 are rare.
In the Verbal Reasoning section, you will encounter questions based on written data. To answer these questions effectively, you must draw inferences, use critical reasoning, and understand the data thoroughly. Your understanding of English grammar and usage will be important throughout this section. There are 36 multiple-choice questions in this section, and you will have 65 minutes to complete them. The Verbal Reasoning section is scored on the same scale as the Quantitative Reasoning section.
During the Integrated Reasoning section, you must understand and analyze data from a variety of sources. Rather than encountering one type of data throughout the section, you will see data in the form of words, numbers, graphs, or tables. To solve the problems in this section you must synthesize and integrate the data from these sources. There are 12 questions in this section. Scores range from 1 to 8, and you will have 30 minutes to complete this section.
The Analytical Writing Assessment asks you to read an argument and respond. Your response will detail which parts of the original argument you believe to be effective and which are not effective. This section gives you a chance to display your understanding of effective argumentation, your ability to structure your writing, and your use of evidence to create a compelling argument. You will have half an hour to finish this section.
How can Tulsa GMAT prep help me to maximize my study time?
The two main paths you can take for your GMAT prep are learning in a group or in a one-on-one environment. Regardless of which path you choose, these services are flexible, convenient to schedule, and able to adapt to your needs.
In a Tulsa GMAT prep class, you and learn alongside your classmates in a virtual classroom. This allows for real-time interactions such as discussions, questions, and dialogue. As you listen to lectures from your skilled instructor, you can ask questions to more clearly understand the content. All instructors are thoroughly vetted to ensure that they understand the content and skills needed for the GMAT. If the class is struggling with a key concept, your instructor can devote extra time in class to making sure that everyone is up to speed. The class discussion you have can help you to see the material from different perspectives which can help you to internalize the content. Additionally, you can find a time to meet with your instructor outside of class if there is a particular aspect of the material you are struggling to learn.
There are new sections of Tulsa GMAT prep courses beginning every week at various times of the day. This allows you to start preparing whenever you are ready. You are able to choose between two and four-week sessions, and sessions are available at several different times. You can prepare for the GMAT during your lunch break at work, during a break in your classes, or at home over the weekend. Because sessions take place online, you can attend from anywhere with an internet connection.
If you are more interested in private instruction, a Tulsa GMAT tutor can work with you to make a study plan that suits your particular goals and needs. However broad or narrow your GMAT study needs are, you can work on the content that is most pertinent to your goals. Also, in order to help you absorb and process the content as well as possible, you are able to learn in ways that suit your learning style. You can even spend time preparing test-taking strategies that address the main challenges of the GMAT. The interactions you have with your mentor can increase both your skills and confidence as you approach this exam.
