My many experiences as a classroom, hybrid, and online graduate student have given me a unique perspective on what makes an excellent online instructor and what creates a disastrous experience for students. I have 13 years of experience as a classroom instructor and several years as an online tutor. I know the foundation of success for online nursing students is contingent on faculty being able to create a cordial and professional relationship with each student. I have extensive experience with APA formatting and writing style and available for editing APA papers including grammar and flow of the content. My teaching experiences include BSN, ADN, and LPN/LVN programs. These programs are regionally accredited and required instructors to use and create NCLEX structured questions. It is imperative for student success during and after completing school to critically evaluate and analyze nursing practice through difficult and alternative format questions. Unfortunately, NCLEX structured questions can be intimidating for students. As a former Assistant Dean for Academic Success and as an online tutor, I have extensive experience helping students understand and apply their knowledge to decrease test anxiety, decrease frustrations with studying, and increase their confidence. Nothing feels better than to hear from students who discovered their personal learning style and hearing about their successes.

I am a tutor with a variety of interests who can help with multiple subjects. I have a bachelor of science in psychology with a minor in teaching English as a second language, and I am pursuing a master in general addictions counseling. I have a love of learning, so if you have a question I don't know the answer to, we can figure it out together. This hunger for learning makes me passionate about helping students learn and understand when they are struggling. I feel like, as a tutor, it is my responsibility to figure out the best way to teach students, since everyone has a different learning style. If teaching something one way isn't understood, then I will continue trying different approaches until one makes sense. I especially like tutoring math, even though it has not been a career I have pursued, but I like to use my strengths in other subjects, like writing, too. I look forward to helping many students learn and exceed their expectations.

I hold an associate degree in Funeral Services from Milwaukee Area Technical College. I have been a licensed funeral director for the last 19 years in Wisconsin. In 2019, I decided that it was time to share my passion for education with others. I attended Capella University, obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, and immediately returned to complete my Master of Science in Educational Psychology this spring. During my return to college, the Covid-19 pandemic took all of our lives and shook them upside down. Being in school as a psychology student has helped me deal with the unique challenges brought on by the pandemic that we still experience today with the addition of hybrid and virtual learning environments. While I can tutor a wide breadth of subjects, my education passion is in the field of psychology. Psychology is more about studying the roots of behavior and how our interactions in our environment change how we behave. Being able to link the theories and concepts of psychology to real-world behavior is an important step in understanding and grasping the concepts and theories better. I encourage people to challenge themselves to better understand concepts and theories by seeing how they are applicable in their lives or environments. Seeing and interacting with a concept outside of a textbook or material changes the way we learn and ignites a passion for learning that is important for educational advancement. I enjoy reading, watching movies, kayaking, and spending time with my children in my free time.

When it comes to helping individuals learn, it has always been something I enjoyed. I love to help others learn and see their growth in the process. I hold a master's degree in early childhood education, as well as my teaching certification. I have been working with elementary students on their academics for over 10 years. I first started out helping elementary students by tutoring them in my after-school program. Shortly after I decided to work in the classroom where I taught kindergarten for four years and I am currently teaching 3rd grade.During this time, I also tutored after school with students at my school and students at a learning center. I believe all children can learn you just have to find out what works for them. I look at the student's needs while taking into consideration what we need to work on during each lesson. I hope I can make a difference in your child's life by helping them grow not only academically but have more motivation to always try their best.
