Hello! My name is Kelsey Palmer and I am a graduate of San Diego State University with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies in Three Departments: Rhetoric and Writing Strategies, History, and Recreation and Tourism Management. I have a passion for writing and editing and love to share that and help others.

I'm currently working toward graduating from the University of Utah with a degree in Sociology. I tutor mainly math and writing, but am able to tutor in a variety of subjects. I strive to make my tutoring sessions productive and enjoyable by getting students involved and excited about learning.

I'm here because I want to better both the lives of my students and my own through education. The most important thing is that a tutor be patient, understanding, and clear with his student, and I strive to be all of these things with every student that I meet.

Whether I'm helping elementary-age kids with reading or going over a college essay, I love providing feedback and encouragement. My favorite moments as a tutor are when a student finally understands a concept they've been struggling with. I'm patient and positive, always looking to help students fully comprehend the subject at hand.

I am extremely passionate about teaching. I taught all through high school and I continued it in college. To me, teaching doesn't only help my students learn, but it also helps me learn. I currently work at East High School as a mentor and help high school seniors prepare for college.

I believe it is valuable for all people to learn a 2nd language.... I believe that all students are capable of learning.... I would introduce myself. I would then give them the opportunity to introduce themselves.... Encourage them to work on their own outside of tutoring opportunities, and not just rely on the tutoring time to improve in their subject.
