Yesterday the student and I worked through a review of some of the narrative portion on his English chapter. He was doing fairly well, but I noticed that the student continues to struggle with identifying parts of speech--what is a noun, what is a verb, what is an adjective, etc. So for the final 15 minutes, we played a game (a variation of "hangman") on the whiteboard that will help him remember the different parts of speech. I believe it was helpful and fun for the student--and I think we should end the next few sessions playing this game.

We started today's session with our sight words. The student is still having trouble with the th sound. We will continue to work on it. The student used magnetic letters to make words ending in ed and ell. She read words with the consonant blends: sh, ch and bl. In handwriting, the student practiced the lower case h. She looked for sight words on our sight word list. The student reread our last book. She then wrote a sentence and illustrated it.
