I'm a music producer, label owner, and educator with releases and a degree to prove it. With 3 EPs and 2 singles out now, I also run a queer electronic music label, building a platform for underrepresented voices in dance music and beyond. My production work spans EDM, hip-hop, and pop, and I bring that real-world experience into every lesson. I teach music production and have significant experience in FL Studio and Ableton, and I try to integrate music theory in an easy-to-understand way to make it less confusing and "boring." I hold a Music Education degree from McGill University in Montreal, where I spent five years studying music, education, and performance. I'm putting this education degree to use by developing an e-learning academy for music producers, making high quality production education accessible and affordable for the next generation of artists.

I am from Calgary, Canada and I am a graduate of The University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. I received my Bachelor of Elementary Education with a focus on the Spanish language in 2012. Since graduation, I have travelled to Europe and Central America. I currently live in Costa Rica. While I was in Canada, I taught a variety of classes, ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 12. I spent the last 5 years in K-4. My favourite classes were those of my grade 1/2 combined classes. We worked together to ensure that their learning was fun, engaging and that we had a laugh each day. I like to help students realize that learning is much more for them than what happens on paper. It is learning who they are as a learner and what makes school or learning exciting for them. I am a believer in taking learning out of the classroom and into nature where I would have my students use sticks and rocks to help solve math problems or demonstrate their art skills. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, and I like to encourage my students to do the same. I also love working on my mental health through fitness, yoga and hiking in the mountains. I always encourage my students to be physically active and teach them the importance of this!

I've always been curious about how the world works, which led me to explore everything from physics and calculus to machine learning and space research. I'm especially interested in how AI can solve real problems in spacelike predicting satellite orbits or understanding Earth's upper atmosphere. Outside of the classroom, I've tutored students from grades 6 to 12 in math and physics. I love breaking down tricky concepts and helping students find that "aha" moment. My favorite subject to tutor is Algebra 2it's where math starts getting deeper and connects to the real world, especially physics and engineering. I focus on making my sessions clear, supportive, and engaging. Whether a student needs help building confidence or mastering complex topics, I aim to make learning feel less stressful and more exciting.

An effective educator must be able to recognize each individual student's learning style and to adapt the lesson to accommodate that style. Also, each student has a different rate of learning. Thus, the lessons must be directed not only towards ensuring the student masters the material but also keeps the student engaged in and enthusiatic about the education process. Finally, the effective tutor must remember that the end goal of the learning process is not only to master a defined set of knowledge and skills, but also to learn "how to learn;" in this way the student will be better equipped to thrive in an ever changing environment.

I graduated in 2019 from San Francisco State University with an M.F.A. in Creative Writing. Presently, I am a doctoral student at Indiana University-Bloomington. I have extensive writing and editing experience with 100+ published articles, seven years of writing experience, and four years of editorial work. During sophomore year of college, I had the opportunity to help high school students from underprivileged backgrounds study for the SAT. There were about 30 students in each room with just two teachers, and I knew I had my work cut out for me, but I wanted to make a difference in an important time in their lives as they studied the math and English skills needed to do well on the exam and get accepted to the colleges they desired. Every time I saw a score increase on a practice test, I knew I was making a difference, and that gave me deep satisfaction. On the elementary and middle school level, I've helped family friends who were having difficulty in their classes understand concepts through easy-to-learn tools that simplified what may have seemed complicated before. When they do well on an exam, I know I served them well. I look back on the quote I chose in my high school yearbook from Jackie Robinson, the first Major League Baseball player to cross the color barrier: "A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives."
