Tutoring review by Michelle in Riverdale, UT
The student looked for her Geometry assessments in her virtual class, and we called the help line for answers. We continued to work on lesson 1, and she took notes about how to work through the problems. I requested a few items that should make tutoring more successful.

Tutoring review by Julia in Riverdale, UT
In our most recent tutor session, the student and I started with his English coursework. Having completed his work on Homer's Odyssey, he began a new novel this past week. We read chapters 5 and 6 together, and underlined and notated sections that indicated the main character's emotional well-being, as defined by Maslow's famous hierarchy of needs standards. We talked briefly about the themes within the book, and its relationship to several other texts (including To Kill a Mockingbird and White Oleander). We then continued our session by starting preparatory work for his upcoming map quiz in history, by researching and locating key cities and regions within the historical era being tested. For our next session, I requested that the student try to acquire all of his sources for his ongoing history paper, so that we can focus on putting together a thesis before structuring the rest of the essay.

For our last session before the student's final we went over a bunch of topics to get her feeling prepared for the test. She handled the review problems really well. She needed a little refreshing on the instantaneous change formula but she had a strong grasp on it by the end.

Tutoring review by Kristof-Pierre in Riverdale, UT
Both students did well on their test. Student M will also be able to redo a section to increase his grade. After reviewing that section of his test we moved on to topics they will cover this week. I showed them both how to graph inequalities and equations on a coordinate plane, how to solve simultaneous equations and inequalities algebraically, and went through the three methods, of graphing, substitution, and elimination. I touched a little on matrices, and what to expect - how operations work on them, and what an augmented matrix is.
