What is your teaching philosophy?

My philosophy of teaching is that all students can learn with the correct approach. I tailor make my tutoring to fit your needs.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

In a first session, I will get to know you through conversation and give you a brief task so I can assess where you are as a student. We will then make a list of goals for you.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

I help you by showing you the tools I have gained over my 44 years in the business.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

I would help you stay motivated by positive feedback. We all have strengths, and I would use yours in our lessons. Also, I would use materials that pique you interests.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I keep trying different methods, such as pictures, videos, and art to show you a way into that concept.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

I select reading materials that you are interested in reading. Everyone likes something. We will start with a text that motivates you to learn more.
