Literature Tutoring review by Vanessa in Kansas City, MO
The student's mom had him ask me to give him a test since he did not have any homework to work on. He said they just had a quiz over adjectives, including demonstrative adjectives and articles, and that it was kind of difficult. I made up some practice questions for him to work through, and we talked about the differences between these types of adjectives. He seemed to grasp the concepts better after working through some examples together. We then spent some time navigating Canvas and the Google Drive folder that his teacher uses for turning in assignments.

Today the student worked on his weekly homework packet. He was given a few worksheets that dealt with types of pronouns. He had to complete sentences with the proper type of pronoun (either intensive or reflexive) as well as identify what type of pronoun an underlined word was. He did an excellent job on his homework and needed minimal assistance. After we finished homework, we studied briefly over some vocabulary words. Excellent session.

Literature Tutoring review by Abigail in Kansas City, MO
The student has a test coming up on Wednesday, so we spent our session reviewing. We worked through his test prep packet together. He did very well on it. He was confident and accurate in his answers. Most encouragingly, he was able to self correct very well--even if he stumbled a little bit at first, he would quickly get back on the right track with little to no input from me. To finish up our session, we talked about some ways that he can make sure he stays calm and focused on his tests. I think that if he is able to keep his head in it, he'll perform very well on his upcoming tests.
