Tutoring review by Kevin in Jamesville, NY
This session covered the value of a digit in a multi-digit number (place value). We also covered Science 3.1 review, focusing on measuring tools, reading charts, and units of measurement (metric). In Reading, we covered verb tenses along with word study (long "a"/short "a"). Strategies for "chunking" multisyllabic words were taught as she was reading directions for each assignment. Extra practice was in the form of homework, which will be completed tomorrow and submitted to the teacher on Friday.

Tutoring review by Jeremiah in Jamesville, NY
I assisted the student with her vocabulary homework by having her use the words and sentences so as to make sure that she knew how to use them correctly. I also quizzed her on the definitions of the words. In addition to this, she worked on some other homework independently. Overall, she did a great job.

Tutoring review by Aaron in Jamesville, NY
This section was our first one using the trigonometric functions. The student already had SOHCAHTOA memorized, so that made the start much easier. He knows how to solve all the problems, but sometimes skips a few steps in his thinking. My work with him is to have him write EVERYTHING down. Once we have an equation on paper, we are good to go.

Tutoring review by Christopher in Jamesville, NY
We reviewed for a chemistry test and reviewed the naming of acids. Additionally, we worked on Algebra 2; we then went over how to work with quadratic equations, including how to identify the axis of symmetry and the range of the function. We also went over how to solve systems of equations involving a quadratic function. At our next session, we worked through balancing chemical equations. The student indicated that the systematic approach that we went over together was easier to follow than the approach he had learned in class.

Tutoring review by Justin in Jamesville, NY
We worked on the student's assignment on the rational root theorem. I explained to her very simply how the root theorem works and how it's applied and she absorbed the information very well. She had no difficulties proceeding through the assignment. I showed her a few shortcuts to quickly dealing with large-numbered arithmetic and testing possible roots

Tutoring review by Charlie in Jamesville, NY
We covered a variety of topics from the student's first semester review, mainly triangle angle measures, proofs, and quadrilateral identification. He was very positive and hard-working throughout the session. We worked through most problems together but I had him work more independently than usual. Also, I wrote a quiz for him and he did that. He had only one wrong. A major win was that he remembered things we discussed, and he struggled with, in our first session.
