Checked the student's tracker (planner) and calendar printout. She had already done and turned in previous Math quiz corrections during class. We went through part of Math test review worksheet. Quizzed and reviewed vocab and procedures for solving equalities and inequalities.

This session we covered material for the upcoming Latin quiz, which covers the first chapter of material. The student had vocabulary to know and declension paradigms to understand. He seemed to be trying to memorize gender by rote with the vocabulary, but we worked on figuring it out through the declension of the noun or adjective. Once he understood the pattern of the paradigm, gender and number were quickly understood. There are only a couple of vocabulary words that he did not know. The expectation is that he will continue to review over the next day and a half, as the quiz is on Thursday.

Today we worked on the pupil's social studies homework. I showed her how to replace and omit words in her use of quotations. I also corrected her spelling. Tomorrow we will work on more social studies and math homework.

Student and I went over the homework and projects/quizzes that he has in each of his subjects. For English, we talked about different styles of writing (the differences between newspaper writing and letter writing, for instance). For History, we watched a video about the colonies prior to the American Revolution and talked about how his class material and the quiz he just took (over the identity of the different regions of colonies and their social/economic identities) pointed forward to the Revolution. He spent fifteen minutes doing his Math homework that he is required to do every night; and we talked about what kinds of things his group is going to be talking about for their science project.

We began the session by reviewing the student's Spanish topic of "Introductions" by writing and speaking the conversation and phrases that will be on the test tomorrow. We then focused on reading and completing the end of chapter questions in Chapter 8 of his ELA Book. He still remains enthusiastic about the book, the plot, the characters, and the subject matter. We will continue working on ELA Thursday at our next meeting!
