Hi! I am currently a dual masters of theology and mental health counseling student at Boston College. I have 5 years of experience teaching an advance literature and philosophy course at a prep school in Arizona, in addition to coordinating the senior thesis project and advising 19 seniors on all of their essays — both thesis and college applications. One of my students chose to take a gap year in France; now I'm helping him write and complete essays for his own Common App colleges. I've also completed an undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts at St. John's College in New Mexico, with multiple essays nominated for prize awards.
In my time teaching, I've also taught elementary aged students literature and creative writing, middle school science, and high school drama and history.
When I'm not tutoring, I love hanging out in bookstores and coffee shops, or just hanging with friends and The Office on Netflix.
But here's the crucial thing to know about me — I'm not only qualified to help students, but I enjoy teaching them to express themselves academically, especially through essays. Articulation is a skill — the ability to not only say something true, but the strength to say it in a unique voice, your voice. I love teaching students to find their voice, to use it with excellence and without shame.
Best of luck in your search!
